Private and Small Group Sessions

Let’s work together! Tailored to your specific needs, desires, and goals, private and small group yoga lessons are personal, fun and challenging. Private lessons allow beginners to safely learn the foundational elements of yoga in a one on one format, while intermediate students are encouraged to deepen their own personal exploration of breath, body, and spirit. Small Group lessons are a wonderful way to bring yoga to your family or friend group. I have worked with families, wedding parties, Girl Scouts, and neighborhood groups. It’s a wonderful way to get to know more about yoga and each other. Whether in the studio or in the comfort of your own home, virtually, you will enjoy the extra attention that private and small group yoga sessions offer.

Release and Restore

Release and Restore is a simple yoga practice with a complex effect on the body. A thoughtful sequence of poses are passively held for 3-5 minutes in order to stress and stretch connective tissue throughout the body. When taught well, this style of yoga offers the student an opportunity to hold poses and go inward to explore the body, mind and spirit. Students learn to practice patience and self lovingkindness. Restorative poses are used toward the end of class to calm the Central Nervous System and leave students feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. This class is an excellent companion practice to styles like Vinyasa flow, which tend to be more active or Yang in nature.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a style of yoga that is based on Chinese philosophies and Taoist principles. While more active styles of yoga like Vinyasa and Ashtanga yoga are “yang” in nature and focus on your muscles, Yin Yoga targets connective tissue, like fascia, ligaments, joints, and bones. Much of Yin Yoga is practiced down on the mat. It is a passive and contemplative practice that gives you opportunity to turn inward. Poses are held for 3-5 minutes which allows you time to tune into the physical sensations of your body and the tendencies of your mind. Yoga props are often used in Yin to support the body in these longer holds, so that you can fully relax to release muscular effort.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is one of the most gentle forms of yoga. Students perform postures and breathing exercises using the support of a chair. This class is perfect for students recovering from illness or injury. Also wonderful for active seniors and anyone who wants to experience the many benefits of yoga without having to get up and down from the floor. Benefits include increased strength, mobility, balance and flexibility, along with improved circulation and cognition.. Each class ends with a final relaxation experience, either in the chair or laying on the mat. No prior yoga experience necessary.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga provides students with a delicious way to relax and release. The goal of a Restorative Yoga is to relax the Central Nervous System, letting go of the fight vs. flight mode, and inviting in rest and digest. Yoga props like bolsters, blankets, and foam blocks are used to lift the floor to meet and support the body. Most postures are done on the mat and held for 5-10 minutes. A thoughtful and traditional Restorative Yoga sequence ensures students build on their experience in each pose to achieve complete relaxation by the end of the session.. This self-care class will leave you feeling completely nurtured and renewed.
