Peace Like a River

transitioning fully into Yoga with Kendi

If my yoga journey was a river, this week would mark a meandering point. A bend, so to speak, in the bank of the river that will take not only me, but our yoga community, in a slightly new direction.  I have been working diligently the past several weeks and months to create a yoga experience for us, that will satisfy you and bring you peace.  Peace like a river.

As I have been working away, the words to the African-American spiritual, Peace Like a River, have been on my heart and in my mind.   Have you ever heard the saying, “you can never step into the same river twice, for it’s not the same river, and it’s not the same man.”, by Greek Philosopher, Heraclitus.  This is also true in yoga.  Each time we come to our mat, our experience is unique.  This would also be true if we walked into a river.  From the temperature of the water to the flow of the current.  From the shifting sand under our feet to the state of our body and mind.  We don't quite know what to expect, which might cause us to worry or give us a feeling of uneasiness.  Our yoga practice teaches us to expect the unexpected without judgment and fear.  To meet ourselves on the mat, exactly as we are... perfectly imperfect.  To take on the twists and turns of life, and make peace with ourselves so that we might ride the swells of our existence with contentment and joy, and find peace like a river in our soul.

My heart and mind are at such peace as we fully transition into Yoga with Kendi.  I adore each of you, and I love and appreciate teaching yoga.  Whether it's virtually, at the Yoga Barn Studio. in Unionville Park, or at Stargazers or Galer Vineyards, it makes me so happy to see you each week and share yoga with you.  I hope you find Yoga with Kendi  a peaceful and fulfilling yoga experience each and every time you come to the mat.  Thank you for your support and grace as we walk into the river together!  Please see below for transition details.

Shanti and Happy Day!

Kendi
